Not all beginnings start with pregnancy — some start with listening.

At Mama & Me, I believe every beginning has a story — even the ones that come before conception.

Begin Your Story Book a Session

For some, the journey to pregnancy is straightforward.

But, when conception feels delayed or uncertain, it can be deeply unsettling — emotionally, physically, and relationally.

Often, the focus turns outward: tests, timelines, treatments, outcomes.

But the body has its own language. And sometimes, it’s asking to be heard before it can move forward.

This page is for you if you are not yet pregnant, but feel called to pause, listen, and understand what your body may be asking for.

The Beginnings Before the Beginning

I know that babies are born communicating, and I believe that parents instinctively know how to listen — even when anxiety, overwhelm, or unexpected experiences make that feel hard to access. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to help you trust what you already know.

I work gently and respectfully, honouring the fact that your baby’s story did not begin at birth, and neither did your relationship. By listening deeply — before birth, through birth, and in the early months — together we create the safety that allows your baby to settle and you to feel confident and connected.

Baby

It isn’t about trying harder.

It’s about listening with compassion, trusting your body’s wisdom, and creating space for possibility.

The Creation Story offers a different kind of support — one that honours the body’s pace, history, and intelligence. It acknowledges that fertility is not only biological, but also emotional, nervous-system-led, and deeply influenced by our earliest experiences.

This work creates the conditions for safety, trust, and openness — foundations that support conception, whatever path it may take.

Preconception Support

How I Work in Preconception Support

Rather than focusing on outcomes, in these sessions I support you to listen to your body’s deeper story — your own earliest beginnings, your emotional landscape, and the patterns your body may be holding.

This process helps restore trust, soften protection, and create the conditions in which new life can be welcomed — without pressure, striving, or expectation.

We may explore:

Your body’s early story

including your own conception, pregnancy, and birth

How past experiences may

have shaped patterns of protection or holding

The role of the nervous system

in readiness, safety, and receptivity

Emotional and physical layers

that may be asking for attention

Reconnecting with your body

as an ally, not something to fix or force

This is quiet, respectful work. There is no pressure, no agenda, and no expectation of outcome. The invitation is simply to listen — and allow what needs to soften, soften.

Preparing for pregnancy

Who This Work Is For

The Creation Story is for you if:

You are preparing for pregnancy and want to begin with intention and care

You are trying to conceive and feeling emotionally overwhelmed

You are navigating IVF or assisted conception and want emotional and embodied support alongside medical care

You have experienced loss, disappointment, or prolonged uncertainty

You feel disconnected from your body and unsure how to trust it again

You sense there is a deeper layer asking to be acknowledged

You do not need to be “ready”.

You only need to be willing to listen.

Why Listening Matters

The body remembers everything — not as memory, but as sensation, rhythm, and response, often unconsciously.

When those stories are met with compassion rather than effort:

The body often softens

The nervous system settles

Emotional clarity emerges

And space opens — sometimes in ways that feel subtle, sometimes profound

For some, this work becomes a foundation for pregnancy.
For others, it becomes a place of healing and reconnection in its own right.

Both are valid.

Both are beginnings.

How This Fits with Other Care

This work does not replace medical or fertility treatment.
It sits alongside it — offering support where medicine cannot always reach.

Many people find that when the body feels safer, calmer, and more heard, something begins to shift — emotionally, relationally, and sometimes physically too.

Whatever the outcome, this work supports you to feel more grounded, connected, and at home in yourself.

An Invitation

If you feel drawn to begin here — gently, without pressure — I would be honoured to walk alongside you.

This is a space to be listened to.

To be met where you are.

And to allow your story to unfold in its own time.

For Professionals

The Creation Story

Pre-conception therapeutic support

Professional Referral Overview

The Creation Story is a pre-conception therapeutic offering for individuals or couples navigating fertility challenges, IVF, assisted conception, pregnancy loss, or prolonged uncertainty around becoming pregnant.

This work supports patients to explore the emotional, somatic, and relational dimensions of conception, recognising that fertility is not only a physiological process, but one deeply influenced by nervous system regulation, embodied experience, and early developmental history.

Clinical Rationale

Clinical Rationale

Emerging research in pre- and perinatal psychology, psychoneuroendocrinology, and stress physiology highlights the impact of emotional safety, stress regulation, and relational context on reproductive health.

The Creation Story offers a structured, trauma-informed space where patients can:

Reduce chronic nervous system activation associated with fertility stress

Explore early relational or developmental imprints that may influence reproductive experience

Re-establish trust and safety within the body

Improve emotional regulation and coherence during fertility treatment

Reconnect to possibility

This work is non-diagnostic, non-directive, and does not interfere with medical protocols. It is designed to sit alongside clinical fertility care, supporting the patient’s emotional and embodied readiness.

Preconception Support

Therapeutic Focus

Sessions may include gentle, body-led and reflective approaches to explore:

Pre-verbal and early developmental experiences that shape the body’s stress responses

Patterns of protection, hypervigilance, or emotional holding

The impact of fertility treatment, loss, or repeated cycles on identity and self-trust

Restoring a sense of agency, safety, and internal permission to receive

The emphasis is on listening, rather than striving — allowing the body to move out of survival mode and into a state more conducive to integration and regulation.

Who This Work Is For

The Creation Story may be appropriate for patients who:

Are preparing for IVF

or assisted conception

Have experienced pregnancy loss

or repeated unsuccessful cycles

Report high levels of anxiety, overwhelm,

or emotional exhaustion

Feel disconnected from their body

or reproductive process

Would benefit from integrative

attachment-informed emotional support

Preparing for pregnancy

Professional Positioning

This work does not replace medical fertility treatment, nor does it claim to directly increase conception rates.*

It supports the emotional and somatic conditions that underpin wellbeing during the fertility journey, and may enhance patient resilience, regulation, and capacity to engage with treatment.

Referrals are welcomed from fertility consultants, obstetricians, GPs, psychotherapists, and allied health professionals seeking integrative support for their patients.

*Although to note. In a large US federally funded Johnson and Johnson study; participants who undertook a mind-body programme alongside their IVF programme, increased their chance of success to 52%, versus 20% in dong IVF alone. (A. Domar et al Fertility and Sterility 2011)
